filinvest

on my way back to genova, i met 3 pinoy filinvest guys, terence the europe head, pastor the manager and deng the promotional arm and for 3 train travel hrs. they have introduced me to realty investment. my first time to travel for a very short 3 hours...not enough to discuss filinvest.

we got along quickly and i got so interested with their selling system, the chinese way. they're just starting to develop a sales team for europe and they're looking for some of its potential members.

they invited me for a training in milan, and since im looking for additional source of income, i agreed instantly. well, i was so convinced with their sales strategy, as i may say so...and i want to know more.

on may 1st i'll be meeting them once again and see what opportunity they can offer to me and how to grab that opportunity!

why not?

should you go back to pinas?

my friend with no regular paper was asked by his employer in italy to go back in philippines to arrange his documents for a direct hire purpose so as to regularize his work status in italy.

my excited friend, carrying all his required documents went back to pinas.

but after several back and forth at the italian embassy, my poor friend has to wait...what? till when? what else do they need? will there be hope of getting my visa? and so many other boggling questions on his mind...

till it blows! is this what the embassy wants? thank you very much!

i really dont understand how's the system in our country with regards to ofws, those embassy's treatment to our ofws. are they suppose to be helping them out? hello?!!

and for the employer, they have all the responsiblities to help my friend out there!

they should at least support them, emotionally and financially while they're waiting for the timeless release of their visa, if there will ever be...

i've been there in pinas for 5 months. im telling you, without any source of income and you have families to support and with all those problems and non- stop increase of prices...and...and...and.......

you just want to get out of pinas!!!

(lucky me, my boss supported me, us.)

just merely talking to my loosing a hope friend, giving advices and moral support and some other options to do, would somehow ease his sooo troubled mind, at least.

however, there were lots of pinoys who successfully did the same process. bravo!!!how did they do that? they tried and took the risk!

to other kabayans who are thinking of going home for the same reason, think 77 times, with our corrupt system, it's too risky and expensive!!!

decision is yours...

ventimiglia

it's italian for 20miles. this is the last town of italy before crossing the border to france. i change my trenitalia here and waited for 1.5hrs for the sncf train to come. i strolled a bit, bought some italian cookies and delicacies and walked with other strangers and tourists of this small village.

shipyard

this is the alfayachtyard, graveyard of ships!

holiday

friday and no work today! so early this morning i packed my things for a long weekend in france. captain was kind enough to bring me to the train station. there was a very long ticket line, the station was crowded of people and so as inside the train. i wonder where are these people goin'??? still cold but we're sweating. people were shouting "c'est complet!" meaning it's full but they're still pushing themselves into the train, and many tried to fit but they just cant squeez in anymore. i have managed to find a seat on my first train, but on the correspondent train, i merely sat on the roof and i saw these passengers suffered on this supposedly free day.

the necklace

karim was furiously mad, he lost his bracelet which i gave him last year in verona. he said he never removed that bracelet from his arm until last week when it went off while he’s driving his motorbike. then he told me that he’s still wearing the necklace with my name on it. he bought a pair of that necklace one engraved with my name and the other one with blank pendant which he gave to me. He asked where’s mine ( I don’t even know where’s that necklace), but replied that maybe it’s in my cabinet in his house. He’ll try to look for it coz he never touch my things that I left in his house.

It simply tells us that no matter how hurt and desolated you’ve been, you cannot simply remove the things, like a necklace that once reminded you of your true love…or perhaps he just get used to wearing it, like how I’m used to be wearing my giglio island necklace. pathetic...

chaos in the galley

the cook will join us next monday! as usual i need to cook and today while cooking tortilla de patatas as requested by the captain, we run out of meat, at the same time cooking cheeze sauce which i have no idea how to do it for the pasta, we run out of tomato sauce as well, we'll do the grocery this afternoon, well dont know how to turn the tortilla from the frying pan and how to make cheese sauce, i have no other option but to get help from the captain. dialed his number and "peter i need your help down here" and he said "ok". he's nice, maybe he's already hungry and he should be nice with me hein!

but seeing my situation, "oh what a chaos here!!!" he washed the dishes, cleaned the area and turned the tortilla upside down, he didnt know cheese sauce recipe as well. we had nice lunch though.

at the shipyard

after a weekend in france, captain fetched me from my house, brought my guitar and we got back on board cohete in genova italy . we'll be leaving very soon to malta but here we are now at the alfayachtyard, need to fix the battery, etc. i dont know how long we're gonna stay here. there's a lot of yachts here, of course before season start, everything must be in good condition.

when we moved from genova, i was kinda seasicked. wind was strong, waves were pretty high and inside the boat things were flying, so was my stomach. thanks to travel bubblegum i didnt vomit. we just need to meet our rendezvous tomorrow at 9am at the shipyad so at least we're already here. t's only 1hr cruise so i was just fine. i assisted decky ramiro with the rope and fenders coz he seems confused and bit tired.

captain asked for 2 glasses of gin tonic when we arrived here and screwdriver (vodka orange) for me. decky just want cold water. then i cooked chicken adobo with rice and sauteed ground beef with green peas and with cotes de rhone red wine for dinner. hmmm we loved it!

i dont have a good signal from my cabin so here i am at the kitchen...eating chocolates, drinking tea with nice music while chatting. it's like graveyard in this isolated shipyard...

3 cups of tea

i've been searching for this book which was recommended by my friend in california, but didnt find in monaco as well in genova. she remembered me when she read this book, knowing that i'm a mountaineer.

this book is about an unforgettable adventure and inspiring true story of the author greg mortinson, a mountaineer who after failed attempt to climb K2, the world's 2nd highest peak, stumbled into an impoverished pakistani village. while recovering he observed children sitting in the dirt writing with sticks in the sand, and made a promise that he would return building them a school. it became a remarkable humanitarian campaign in which he dedicated his life to promote education and literacy. as of 2007, he established 61 schools which provide education to over 25,000 children in pakistan and afghanistan.

after telling my friend how desperate i am to get this book, i was about to order it in amazon.com, she's so sweet to offer me a copy and mail it from u.s. to italy, great!!! plus, asked my size coz she'll include victoria secret tongs...wow!

thanks nel, cant wait to get that package! love you!

international but one goal

my first time to attend kh here in genova italy. i was suprised and amazed to meet people of different colors from different nationalities; different sessions - italian, english, spanish, portuguse, tagalog, chinese, turkish, arab...but with only one goal and that is to have eternal life in paradise on earth.

i've also got a chance to hear circuit overseer's talk "is your goal leads you to success?" a question that needs a wise reflection! what is my success?

after that meeting , a filipino family invited for a filipino dinner - pansit, lumpiang shanghai, fried chicken & afritada. hmmm spiritually high na tummy filled pa.

mon bon weekend

I just arrived from a nice weekend in France. strolled around Monaco with Uniz, had cappuccino & niosette at cafĂ© de paris, then quatre fromage pizza at Caravelle bar at the port, courtesy of Onasis, thanks but that pizza gave us tummy ache and uniz even vomited; we wondered what’s their secret ingredients…

oh yes, a la maison, our hearty breakfast crepe with nutella, lunch, delicious hot pork stew with squash and our dinner of pasta ala gorgonzola cheese and pork tocino prepared by chef archie, then Italian ice cream dessert. C’est tres bon! Other than that I stayed tucked under my duvet with my laptop and busy fingers…

4th of april 2k8

Beautiful day here in genova. The port is quiet not so many people at this time but crews of different boats are starting to come for preparation, soon this place will be filled up again by lots of crowd from different parts of the world, sure, it’s the start of another season…so here we go again!

According to my old german captain peter, we will stay here in genova until may 4, then slowly will cruise down to naples, sicily then malta where we will pick up our first charter, 4 very nice, adorable and sweet regular guests of ours on the 15th of may. Guests will stay for 1wk and we’ll cruise around malta island. Then by june, 3 guests will come on board for another 1wk charter also in malta. Then next is august for 3wk charter with the boss and his wife and daughter and 2 dogs around malta and south of Greece. By September we will come back here in Genova, then vacation time again somewhere…Well that’s the plan for this season!

Im so excited now to discover malta and Greece, yes my first time and as always with my all first times, I got excited and thrilled to explore these 2 great places in Europe. Wow I have read some books about them and I just wanted to feel and experience and just get lost and have some more adventures with their people, culture, food and wine, language and history and art, everything that I could learn from them!!! This is what I want with my job…working with pleasure. Plus with great boss! What else can I ask for?

Vacation plans? So many options in my mind and so many invitations from different friends as well. Well that’s the problem of having a very limited time, you want to do it all but you just can’t or you have to organize your schedule very well.

1 canada and usa tour on October 13 to 27 with my sister robie who’s based in florida

2 mont blanc climb, highest mt in france, with my ayala mountaineer batchmate seint who’s based in london…sometime in October (well amci requested us amciers in Europe to do a 25th amci anniversary climb here)

3 mt. Kilimanjaro climb, highest mt in Africa…wow this is somehow a dream, but my dearest friend henry, a professional sierra madre mountaineer invited me to climb in November! Whhooaaa!!!

4 mt. kinabalu of malaysia, highest mt in asia, …hey bernz I need a guide, are you coming? Brother Bernie is also my amci batchmate who’s been there at the peak of kinabalu and he said it’s just a walk in the park climb! Yeah yeah!!!

5 tour in korea with jws & families maybe

6 and of course Philippines in my hometown in tayabas city, quezon province.

3 out of those 6 options will be fair enough for me to spend a great vacation this year.

btw, karim turned 47 today! he said he's old i told him it's only in the mind. he can be young at heart and spirit...

my webnovela

For the sake of answering the same thousand questions from my families and friends all over the world, naks, and have been influenced by my blogger friend Francesca of France, (I dont talk to her anymore, I just read her blog…hmmm sad), I have decided to record my what’s going on with my life story thru this blog. I promise that i will try my very best to update this blog as much as possible. I used to write to so many diaries, calendars, agendas, notebooks, etc. about my life, ohhh what a mess ! but I have to organize it and do this recording once and for all. So this is it! To all of you who are quite interested to know, comprehend, understand, estimate, calculate, update, analyze or criticize me, READ.

I should start from today. Im back here in Genoa or Genova, Italy on board our Cohete yacht where I work as Stewardess. For some of my families and closest friends who already knew this, just skip this part and the other parts that you know.

Im waiting for my old dear friend ana whom i havent seen for the past 6 months. Though we chat all the time, its different to see your friend in person, with feelings e, may kasama pang batok hehe if you’re makulit. We’ll have dinner here together onboard, my captain went to france this afternoon and will be back tomorrow, so the yacht will be ours alone, hey we’re not gays ok ? Oh yeah i havent seen her because i went back home in philippines last october and came back in France last 15th of march and then back here in italy just last Monday the 31st of March 2008. I started my work in April fool’s day…hahaha funny ! Yes I spent 5 months vacation in pinas. Wow you survived ! you might think ! or some would say wow grand vacances ! see.. it depends on a person’s own perspective. Well to sum it all, i would say that i have enjoyed that long vacation, as in so very much ! i had great quality times and experiences with my families and old and new friends, been to beautiful places and most of all i found the peace that ive been searching for a very long time…eventually had changed my point of view in life ! ...to be continued
